Become a partner

The projects are at the core of the URBACT Programme. It is the projects that develop effective and sustainable solutions to key urban challenges. Each project has 6 to 12 partners who work together for 2 to 3 years.

Why should you become an URBACT II project partner?

Who can be a partner in an URBACT II project?

  • Cities (municipalities and agglomerations)
  •  Regions (where urban issues are involved)
  • Universities and research institutions (where urban issues are involved)
  • Other partners (generally at their own expense): national and transnational city associations, the private sector

Partners must come from one of the 27 European Union Member States, Norway or Switzerland (partner states). Partners from other countries can participate at their own expense.

When should you apply?

You have two options:

  • Wait until URBACT opens a call for proposals and then send in an expression of interest
  • Join an approved project at the end of its Development phase, when the project is taking on additional partners.

The third and last URBACT call for proposals is now closed.

URBACT also opens specific calls for proposals for targeted projects. Stay informed by regularly visiting the URBACT web site.

How to apply ?

1. Read the call for proposals, the Programme Manual and the applicant's guide.

2. Fill out the expression of interest and the attached financial tables and send them to the URBACT Secretariat.
