A Successful Launching Event of URBACT Thematic Reports in Brussels
Over 150 people attended the launching event of a series of six new URBACT thematic reports "Cities of Tomorrow: Action Today" on 18 June in the European Commission conference centre. The participants have been introduced with the main findings of each report and URBACT capitalisation process in general and have debated the key urban challenges facing European cities. For those who could not make it, here is a selection of what we heard in Brussels.

Participate in Launching Event of URBACT Thematic Reports in Brussels
URBACT with the support of Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission is organising a launching event of a series of six new URBACT thematic reports "Cities of Tomorrow: Action Today". Published as a result of URBACT capitalisation process these reports focus on key urban challenges. The launching event will take place in Brussels in the European Commission Albert Borschette Conference Centre on Tuesday 18 June 2013, 11:00-14:00. URBACT 2013 Summer University - Save the Date
Following the success of the first event, URBACT is organising its 2nd Summer University for URBACT Local Support Groups. The event will take place in Dublin, Ireland, from Wednesday 28 August to Saturday 31 August 2013.

URBACT National Training on Participative Action Planning
In 2013, URBACT is launching a new initiative to support its beneficiaries in delivering better results at local level. Partners of 15 URBACT projects created under the 3rd and last call for proposals will benefit from a new support scheme entitled 'URBACT National Training on Participative Action Planning'. Training seminars will be organised for Local Support Group members, in national languages, to strengthen their capacities in participative action planning.

URBACT participating in Dublin CoR Event "Agenda for new skills and jobs"
The Committee of the Regions (CoR) will be holding the second in a series of seven conferences debating the Europe 2020 flagship initiative "An Agenda for new skills and jobs" on 28 February and 1 March 2013. The event will discuss how local and regional authorities can help improve education and respond to the need for more flexible careers, making a valued contribution to Europe's growth strategy. URBACT - and the ESIMeC project - will be represented at this conference.
