Our Activities

There are a number of activities scheduled throughout the project lifetime bringing project partners together with stakeholders and members of the Managing Authorities. These include a Kick Off meeting, 5 Working Groups Meetings, Publicity Event and a Final Conference. Partners will have the opportunity to visit some sites to gain first hand knowledge of the local challenges and actions.

STATE OF PROGRESS

We are well into the implementation phase of the REPAIR project and it has been an exciting and busy time. Partners have met together on two separate occasions with excellent outcomes and some very good exposure for the project. We have published the findings of our first Working Group Report and will soon publish it on the URBACT website for consultation.

25 January 2010 REPAIR Work Group Pillar IV

image

The next Project REPAIR work group will take place in Karlskrona, Sweden on 4 - 5 February 2010. The work group will focus on PILLAR IV on the topic of Local Jobs for Local People! The full topic description is “How the socio-economic re-use of Military or Heritage sites can maximise local jobs for local people and therefore sustainable communities and greater social cohesion?”

The Work Group Programme provides the opportunity to see at first hand the regeneration example undertaken by Karlskrona focused on telecommunications to provide employment.

We will to meet with employment specialists from our partners who will present good practice examples of employment measure taken. These will form the core of evidence required to support our policy recommendations.

Thematic Experts will review the earlier exercises undertaken for Pillar 2 and Pillar 3, which will be summed up into Policy recommendations for discussion with partners.

We will also start to plan the work for the PILLAR 1 Work Group regarding the integration of the renewable energy, which will take place in Paola Corradino, Malta on 07 – 10 April 2010.
