The general coordination and operational management of the URBACT II RegGov project has been entrusted to the Development Agency of the City of Duisburg (EG DU Entwicklungsgesellschaft Duisburg mbH). The EG DU plays an important part in the improvement of the economic, social and housing structures in those Duisburg neighbourhoods which are particularly affected by problematic situations.
The tasks assigned to the EG DU combine urban planning, social policy and intercultural affairs. Depending on the various local areas and situations, the approaches desiged and implemented by the EG DU are specific to each neighbourhood and derived from individual action programmes. In each case, the EG DU has been entrusted by the City Council with their implementation and further development.

Dr. Petra Potz is the managing director of the consultancy “location³ Knowledge transfer” in Berlin. She is working as an urban planner with experiences in integrated urban planning in a European context. The focus is on governance structures, integrated urban and regional development and urban regeneration policies, e.g. retail and city centre development, decision-making processes and activation of civil society as actors in deprived neighbourhoods.
