City of Magdeburg, Dr. Klaus Puchta puchta@ob.magdeburg.de

Magdeburg is the capital city of Saxony-Anhalt and has a population of 230.000. With 1200 years of rich and colourful history, Magdeburg is one of the oldest cities in the New Laender of the former East Germany. The city wants to use science as motor for urban and economic development and therefore develops an old not longer economically used harbor district near to the city center to be re-shaped as a "Science Harbour" with lots of space for innovative companies and scientific institutions
