The REDIS Final Conference took place in the Lead Partner city on 12th and 14th April 2011. A number of leading experts and policy makers given speeches to reflect on the theme. There was also a look at the global dimension of the topic, as Dr. Kwon Lee referred to the development of Songdo international city in South Corea.

Revitalising an industrial area: Is knowledge the answer?

From 15th  to 17th December the last REDIS Implementation Lab was hold in Vienna. The programme and some general informations about the Vienna project.

In the context of the REDIS programme, in September 2010, Bialystok hosted an Implementation Lab, a method that helps to audit a project using the expertise of project partners from different countries.

The summer school will take place in Aarhus on 16th to 17th September 2010. The summer school focuses on new trends and insights regarding the development of science parks, knowledge hubs and other ‘hotspots’ for the knowledge economy.

In June 2010, a delegation of 8 European cities visited Aachen to learn more about the ambitious and highly innovative new campus development there. The study trip was part of the REDIS project, that deals with the question how to develop urban ‘hotspots’ for the knowledge economy. We obtained lectures from a number of stakeholders involved, and had intense discussions with them.

The Implementation Lab in Halle /Saale took place on 31st of May to 2nd of June 2010. It was the 6th Implementation Lab in the REDIS-Project. Here you will find the results of the lab.

Following the Implementation Lab the first annual confernce of REDIS was happen in Newcastle as well.

Newcastle hosted their Implementation lab on 26 to 28 May at the Newcastle University Business School. The event was attended by 17 European delegates and more than 20 local delegates, all involved in the development of the Science Central site.

On March 2nd - 4th 2009 the first impelmentation lab took place in Magdeburg. The hosts’ Local Support Group (LSG) and the REDIS partners (‘peer review’) analysed  the science quarter in the hosting city.
