Governement money supports URBACT project in Skanderborg
Municipality of Skanderborg has made an agreement with Danish Cyclists’ Federation (DCF) to get support for the development of ideas and implementation of parts of the Local Action Plan which is an outcome of the Active Travel Network Project.

A simple Walking Bus exercise very intensively promoted in Sebeş has transformed in a social event producing a real change of mentality at a much broader lever than expected.
Initially planned for primary school pupils, the event gained the appreciation of the teenagers, thus ascending from an isolated initiative to a broader public and from a school to the city.

European Conference on Mobility Management 2011
A joint training session of the two EU-funded projects LIFECYCLE (funded by DG SANCO) and ACTIVE TRAVEL NETWORK (funded within the URBACT program) has been carried out within the annual European Conference on Mobility Management in Toulouse in May 2011.

EU-project is to make more people hit the pedals in Skanderborg
Leaving the car behind and jumping onto the bike not only benefits the environment – it is healthy too! And, if it were up to a local project group in Skanderborg to decide, then more people should be pedaling when going to work, dropping of children in school or daycare or heading to the shops or leisure activities.

The next meeting of all partners of the project "Active Travel Network" will take place on the 21 to the 22 of March in Seville. We have chosen Seville because from 23 to 26 March there will be a big conference called the "Velo-City" in Seville.

Due to the short distance between the lead partner and its nearest partner in northern Slovenia representatives of Weiz were invited to Ljutomer on January 30th 2012 to discuss the intermediate results of either Local Action Plans. The talks made it clear that both cities share similar traffic problems.
