Our Activities

The final publication of the network (Learnings, Conclusions and Guidelines for carrying out Urban Planning Processes in Peripheral Cities of Metropolitan Areas), The Bank of Urban Transformation Processes and the 8 Local Action Plans are some of the final products of the network that are now available under the "OUR OUTPUTS" section.

The Third and Last Thematic Publication is already available online. The publication produced after the organisation of the third seminar under the title: Enhancing new forms of urban and metropolitan governance can now be consulted at the "Outputs" section.

The Second Thematic Publication is already available online. The publication produced after the organisation of the second seminar under the title: Building new urban identities - from monofunctional to multifunctional cities can now be consulted at the "Outputs" section

The First Thematic Publication is already available online. The publication produced after the organisation of the first seminar under the title: Driving Forces for Urban Cohesion - Recovering abandoned and obsolete indsutrial areas and avoiding fragmentation and urban division in peripheral cities of metropolitan areas can now be consulted at the "Outputs" section.

The NeT-TOPIC project was invited to present the Thematic Network in the First Meeting of Mayors organised in the framework of the Project Brazil Municipios that took place last 12.02.09 in Brasilia.

Last 2nd March, NeT-TOPIC cities celebrated the Final Conference in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.  The closing ceremony aimed to present and share the main learnings and outputs achieved by the network during the more than two years and a half of common work.

On 24-25 November 2010, L’Hospitalet organised the second and final workshop/lab within the NeT-TOPIC framework. At this point in time, only some months before the end of the project, the main aim of this internal working meeting was to compile a set of issues in order to make sure that the partner cities get the most out of their participation in the network and that good, useful results are produced after the two and a half years of joint work.

Last 1-2nd October 2010, Nanterre held the third Thematic Seminar in the framework of the NeT-TOPIC network. The event under the title "ENHANCING NEW FORMS OF URBAN AND METROPOLITAN FORMS" was specially focused on the point of view of periperhal intermediate cities located in metropolitan areas.

Last 24-25th February 2010, Haidari organised the first Workshop-lab in the framework of NeT-TOPIC thematic network. The aim of this internal meeting was to put together the local strategies of the network partners in order to consolidate the Local Support Groups and Local Action Plans.

Last 21-22nd October, Salford held the second Thematic Seminar in the framework of the NeT-TOPIC network. The event under the title "BUILDING NEW URBAN IDENTITIES - from monofunctional to multifunctional cities", was foscused on the development and consolidation of identity for intermediate cities in transformation.

After the 6 month Development Phase (21st April-21st October 2008) and the approval of the Final Application, NeT-TOPIC has entered into the Implementation Phase (October 2008-April 2011). The Kick-off meeting and first Steering Group meeting organised in Barakaldo, Spaon, last 4-5th Ferbruary was the starting point for the Second Phase.
