The first house B3 will be delivered in September in Rennes Métropole. Is scheduled a visit with all the SUITE partners for the next 16th September

How to "design and organise" - start, run and stablise - local revitalisation projects? A holistic view seems to be essential, in terms of fields and issues, of quality, of actors and people involved and of timing. This is the main conclusion from Heidrun Feigelfeld, urban and housing researcher and URBACT SUITE Lead Expert, based on a transversal view of European experience, including URBACT projects. 

"Mixité": an urban and housing issue? Mixing people, housing and activities as the urban challenge of the future - the theme of this year´s conferece of the ENHR European Network for Housing Research shows that crucial elements of teh main issue of the URBACT SUITE project are high on the agenda. Thus, the SUITE Thematic Expert Darinka Czischke and Lead Expert Heidrun Feigelfeld, both memebers of ENHR, will present project conclusions at workshop.

In the aftermath of the financial crisis and state interventions, governments across Europe are looking at always to control public spending. Policy measures are under increased scrunity, both at local, national and at European level. Housing is a field of enormous impact, thus using project findings for debate and policy development is relevant. URBACT SUITE The Housing Project was invited to present its recommendations to an audience of European stakeholders and experts.

CECODHAS Housing Europe will hold a conference entitled "The Key role of Structural Funds for Sustainable Energy in e EU" on Thursday 9 June in Cardiff. This conference takes place within the framework of the 2011 General Assembly Meetings of CECODHAS and the SF Energy Invest project supported by Intelligent Energy Europe Programme. Presentations of achievements in the field of sustainable energy and housing, current and future EU funding opportunities and reflection over the needs for future EU support will be presented.

Due to the cooperation of CECODHAS with the URBACT SUITE Project, the SUITE Lead Expert Heidrun Feigelfeld is invited to participate in the conference and will provide SUITE findings to the discussion.

As part of the Belgian Presidency of the European Union, the Brussels-Capital region, an international conference titled "Sustainable Housing - a tool for social cohesion?" will be held in Brussels on the 23rd and 24th of November 2010.

The last regular meeting of the SUITE network was celebrated in Santiago de Compostela on the 7th and 8th of October. During this meeting the partners presented their Local Action Plans and got input form the other partners.

On June 29th SUITEs Thematic Expert, Darinka Czischke, gave a lecture on the European Housing Forum. Her lecture was on "Changing lifestyles, changing climate - the role of housing in the EU".

During the two days the meeting lasted, there were time time look at the technical implications of energy efficient measurements, as well as visiting examples of this put into practice.

The Local Support Group in Santiago de Compostela organized a meeting open to the public on the topic of rented social housing using experiences from other municipalities in Catalonia, Basque Country and Andalucia.

SUITE Meeting in Hamburg cancelled due to ash cloud. New dates will be announced shortly.

The past February 1st the Local Support Group for Santiago met up to discuss progress and definition of their Local Action Plan.

The past 1st and 2nd of December the SUITE project came to Newcastle to learn about how the city has created a strategy on regeneration and housing in order to front the challenges of inclusion.

The kick-off meeting of SUITE project took part in Iasi last 4th and 5th March 2009

At the end of June, it was held in the French cities of Nantes and Rennes the First Thematic meeting of the SUITE project. This meeting deals with the key issue of "qualitative social housing combined with social mix"
