What is Citiz@move :
Citiz@move is a network of 20 cities working on the citizen participation theme. It focuses on how to involve citizens in activities as well as decision-making processes at local level in order to create better conditions for public development projects and (town) planning that meets the wishes of the inhabitants. By involving citizens and other representatives of the cities the project shall facilitate an international exchange of knowledge, create tools for adapting local needs of the players involved and finally test new practices concerning the participation of population of foreign origin, the participation in social disadvantaged neighborhoods, and the integration of citizens into administration management by utilizing an IT tool.
The network objectives:
* Favour the transnational exchange of experiences and the dissemination of the knowledge produced between the different players involved in the urban and social development mechanisms. The players in question are decision-makers, urban and social development professionals, inhabitants and other players that are involved in some way or another.
* Favour the appropriation, by the aforementioned players, of a common system for capitalizing from the acquired knowledge. The purpose of this system is to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and to stimulate the capabilities of the different categories of players in their operational interactions.

* The inclusion of ethnic minorities within the political and social process - Working Group 1
* Good governance and practice (including citizen participation with regard to good governance) - Working Group 2
* The integration of citizens into administration management by using an IT tool - Working Group 3
