STAY TUNED - Final conference on Early Leaving of Education and Training (ELET) - in Ghent (BE)
There are many strategies for tackling Early Leaving from Education and Training (ELET).
But how do we turn good strategy into actions that deliver results?
Stay Tuned has been about doing just that!
Stay Tuned is a network of nine European cities: Ampelokipi-Menemeni (GR), Aveiro (PT), Barcelona (ES), Berlin (DE), Ghent (BE), Gothenburg (SE), Nantes (FR), Sofia (BG) and Tallinn (EE). These cities have joined forces to tackle ELET since 2016, with the support of URBACT, a European exchange and learning programme promoting sustainable urban development.
Stay Tuned, as an URBACT ‘Implementation Network’, has been facilitating the exchange of expertise on how to implement their projects more successfully. This way, they aimed to reduce high levels of ELET, which lead to higher risks of unemployment, poverty and social exclusion.
Our Stay Tuned conference on 22nd May 2019 (9AM-6PM) in Ghent is the culmination of three years’ work. Representatives of the partner cities will be joined by experts from URBACT and the Stay Tuned network team to present the results of their projects to everyone who is working to increase young peoples' skills, qualifications and opportunities.
In six interactive workshops the conference will focus on exchanging ideas concerning the key question of which policies and implementation strategies local authorities can use to effectively deal with high urban rates of early school leaving. Check the programme here.
As lead partner of Stay Tuned, the city of Ghent is pleased to invite you to this upcoming conference. Whether you are an education professional, a policy maker, a project leader or just interested in the topic, we hope you can join us to help shape the future of tackling ELET on an urban level!
