TRANSNATIONAL WORKSHOP 4 Mid Term Review/City games and use of technology 22, 23, 24 January 2020, Warsaw
The meeting took place in Warsaw at the Warsaw Multicultural Centre.
The first moment was dedicated to the welcoming to the partners and to a tour of the multicultural centre. Then we had a presentation about The Warsaw approach to anti-rumours and use of games. The City of Warsaw, in fact, wants to create an educational game that will help change children's attitudes.
The main goal is to create a game that allows Polish kids to understand how foreign children feel, will give basis for the construction of intercultural peer groups and build an attitude of lack of acceptance of violence.
We want to work with a target group of 10-12 years old kids, schoolkids from Warsaw to contrast NEGATIVE ATTITUDES TOWARDS IMMIGRANTS that depends on the lack of understanding how a person exposed to exclusion or harassment feels, lack of contact and personal experience with foreigners, the need of belonging to the environment - and it's easiest to belong to people like me. Also, kids are influenced by the negative attitude of parents / family towards foreigners Society’s acceptance of violence and expressing of prejudice and by the lack of teachers' knowledge and cultural awareness Nationality as an easy to indicate element connecting the members.
The event included also a focus on the project, in particular on "Where have we got to and where are we going? Telling our transfer stories through pictures", a session on URBACT Mid Term Review and the presentation of the Case Study- Lublin anti-rumour strategy.
