The Municipality of Leiria, the partner that leads and coordinates the network's activity, kicked off its activities through digital actions, followed by the other partners with initiatives in their respective cities.
For the Mayor, Gonçalo Lopes, "this is a challenge that Leiria embraces with the determination and courage of those who see urban security as an essential pillar to the dynamics of a community".
Idea shared by the Councillor for Planning and Territorial Planning, Rita Coutinho, for whom "it will be possible to contribute so that the process of planning and management of urban environments gains a new paradigm".
Within this project, the Municipality established as objectives the requalification of the historic center and urban areas on the outskirts of the city, implementation of a mobility and accessibility plan, evaluation of public spaces and sensitive areas, among others.
