  • Nikolina Gracin, City of Sibenik

    Through URBACT, we are seeking answers to the question of how the city can retain existing residents and attract new ones

    City of Šibenik has an extensive experience implementing EU funded projects, including the URBACT programme. In the previous period, Šibenik was partner in four citizens networks. Now, they took a role as a Lead Partner in the network "Residents of the Future". On this occasion, we spoke with Nikolina Gracin, a representative of the City of Šibenik and the coordinator of the Network. The interview was conducted for URBACT Croatia by Lucija Jusup, an advisor at the Association of Cities in the Republic of Croatia.   • EXPERIMENTATION ON THE GROUND: SMALL-SCALE ACTIONS IN SANTA MARIA DA FEIRA

    Since the first moment of the adhesion of the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira to the European program URBACT, the local group of the Active Citizens project privileges experimentation in the field, with the preparation and implementation of small-scale actions, which allow testing and measuring results to improve or reject ideas or concepts. It is true that, by their nature, these actions have the legitimacy to fail, but they can also prove to be powerful and effective tools for citizen participation.

  • THE ACTIVE CITIZENS NETWORK: A PARTNERSHIP BASED ON HONESTY, TRANSPARENCY AND FRIENDSHIP

    Christophe Gouache, the Active Citizens network Lead Expert, is a designer of public policy but also a teacher at “Science Po” Lille, a trainer at the National Institute of Territorial Studies in Strasbourg and, occasionally, a researcher in the framework of European research programs. He reveals to us, among other things, the keys to success that have made it possible to unite the 7 member countries of the Urbact network and his vision of participative democracy.

  • TNM Skofja Loka of the Breaking isolation network met on December 13 and 14, 2023

  • BluAct - Starting Up the Blue Economy

    BluAct network initiated its works during Spring of 2018, and has been awarded with the EEPA 2018 “Promoting the Entrepreneurial Spirit” award. Phase 2 of the project initiated recently with main event the transnational kick-off meeting that took place in Piraeus between 26-28 of February 2019.
