A Follow-up on Project Dimensions and the Integrated Action Plan process.

During the second quarter, Archethics Network provided an update on the project's dimensions: "History, Ethics, People, and Architecture," aimed at exploring the theme of Dissonant Heritage and developing Integrated Action Plans through a comprehensive approach.

We organized:

  • Two Core Network Meetings in Gdańsk (Poland) and in Tirana and Përmet (Albania).
  • Two Hybrid Masterclasses (both in-person and online via Facebook Live) featuring local and international experts. The first masterclass focused on History and Ethics in Gdańsk, while the second addressed Architecture and People in Tirana.
  • An online follow-up webinar on Storytelling, Inclusion, and Gender.
  • The first online meeting to prepare the Integrated Action Plan.
  • Two meetings for Urban Living Lab (ULL) coordinators.
  • One-on-one meetings with partner cities.

The Masterclasses and Webinars

The four dimensions—Architecture, People, History, and Ethics—along with cross-cutting themes such as gender-equal policymaking, green transition, and digital transformation, drive the project's implementation.

Masterclasses and webinars serve as valuable learning tools led by experts, aimed at providing insights and diverse perspectives.

The first masterclass in Gdańsk focused on History and Ethics. Through expert presentations and laboratory sessions, participants recognized the importance of understanding history by analyzing facts and sharing the emotions connected to them. To facilitate this, safe spaces are essential for individuals to express their opinions freely.

Discussing the topic of ethics proved to be particularly challenging, often generating more questions than answers.

The second masterclass centered on Architecture and People, emphasizing the importance of obtaining support for managing dissonant heritage, especially concerning the complex relationship with the architectural legacy of those who lived under totalitarian regimes.
