URBACT Network
Based on the experience of the Getafe and Chalandri cities as Lead Partners of the EmPowerIngUs and Hydro-Heritage Cities URBACT Networks respectively. Communication will be discussed:
… as a strategic legacy tool.
Reframing communication not as simple dissemination or promotional tool, but as a long-term strategic asset; as a means to capitalize on project results, to build networks with stakeholders, funders, and partners, to enable continuity beyond the project lifecycle. Understanding of how one project can evolve into the next (legacy), identifying pathways to scale up or replicate results (capitalization).
…. as relationship-building.
Communication is fundamentally about building relationships and enabling future actions, as it can connect project implementation with policy integration and long-term impact.
This relational approach helps to ground project activities in real contexts, strengthens legitimacy and visibility and generates further opportunities (collaborations, recognition).
… as means to translate results into political impact.
A key operational goal of communication is how to create clear, convincing narratives. “Stories” that can attract and identify follow-up opportunities able to influence decision-makers and to align communication output with governance priorities and investment planning.
