The EU City Lab on Housing is a knowledge-sharing event co-organised by URBACT and the European Urban Initiative (EUI), with support from Brussels Housing and perspective.brussels (BE). It will take place on 15-16 October 2026.
The event will focus on how European cities can design, finance and regulate affordable housing solutions across different urban contexts. It aims to create a European-local dialogue to connect EU policy frameworks with concrete delivery mechanisms on the ground.
The EU City Lab is an unique opportunity to:
- Learn about housing as a strategic priority at European level, as reflected in the European Affordable Housing Plan and the work of the Housing Task Force within the European Commission.
- Discover how the Brussels Capital Region is putting affordable, social and cooperative housing into practice.
- Exchange with city peers and experts from across Europe and bring home new ideas, contacts, and inspiration.
Who is this event for?
The EU City Lab on Housing is designed for up to 100 participants including representatives of European cities; local agencies and public institutions; and experts working on housing in cities and regions across Europe.
