After a first inspiring webinar on managing water related heritage sites last July, in this follow up we explore how can cities protect and reactivate their water heritage while addressing today’s pressing environmental and social challenges.
Turning now to solutions, this session will highlight concrete experiences from across Europe with the help of experts, practitioners and policy makers, offering participants a chance to explore promising practices and new ideas for action. The emphasis will be on exploring innovative urban approaches to the complex issues surrounding the management of water sensitive cities and their heritage.
In addition to the experiences of Porto and Valencia, examined in webinar 1, four exemplary case studies from Augsburg, Seville, Copenhagen and Bruges will highlight technological, ecological, and community-based initiatives, either implemented or piloted, to inspire participants and initiate thoughtful discussion.
Such cases will touch in particular on integrated and sustainable systems using Nature-Based/hybrid solutions, circular economy, and smart monitoring, community and cultural innovation with citizen-led initiatives, living labs, and adaptive reuse of heritage sites and cross-sector synergies.
Anyone is welcome to take part on Wednesday 3 September at 10.30 am (CET) by connecting in https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87497320125
