Summary

Cecília Delgado is an urban planner, activist, and researcher in public policies, specializing in territorial planning, urban food systems, and local development. She is a researcher at FCSH – Universidade Nova de Lisboa (CICS.NOVA) and consultant at Stone Soup Consultants, with over 20 years of experience bridging science, policy, and practice. She holds a PhD in Urbanism and has additional training in public policy (LEAP Programme, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation), scientific literacy, social entrepreneurship, design thinking, research data management, and journalism. Her expertise lies in intersectoral and interdisciplinary approaches, applied research, diagnostics, and impact assessment. As co-founder and President of Alimentar Cidades Sustentáveis, European Climate Pact Ambassador, and expert evaluator for EU projects, Cecília champions the integration of food and agriculture into climate and land-use strategies. She has contributed to multiple national and international initiatives, including Horizon Europe, and is the author of several scientific works, such as the eBook “How to Integrate Food and Climate into Land-Use Planning”. Her passion is transforming research into policy tools through capacity-building, public participation, and evidence-based advocacy.
