Summary
Urban planner and researcher with a strong European background in sustainable mobility, spatial justice, and walkability. Recently awarded a PhD from the University of Palermo, where I focused on overcoming spatial and socio-cultural barriers to pedestrian accessibility through the lenses of the 15-Minute City and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD). My research combined spatial analysis with social psychology to understand mobility behaviours and promote inclusive, car-independent urban environments.
I bring academic depth, applied research, and policy-oriented experience to my role as a Mobility Expert in the URBACT IV Programme, supporting cities in crafting integrated, participatory mobility strategies aligned with EU goals. I also completed a visiting PhD programme at the University of Amsterdam (AISSR), where I investigated non-infrastructural barriers to active mobility.
With prior collaborations involving tools like GIS-based urban inequality indexes and soft mobility plans, I offer cities both conceptual clarity and practical frameworks to transition toward more liveable, accessible public spaces. Fluent in cross-cultural urban contexts and passionate about supporting European cities in delivering place-based, equitable mobility transformations.
