Summary

With over seven years of international experience bridging technical design and strategic placemaking, Giulia is an architect, urban designer and co-founder of STIPO Italia. Throughout her career, solidified through key ongoing collaborations with AMAT and the Municipality of Milan and the deep relationship with STIPO, she has developed deep expertise in public space transformation, focusing on sustainable mobility, climate adaptation and urban regeneration. She has contributed and coordinated complex projects such as the "Piazze Aperte" program, designed structural depaving and shading concepts/strategies, advocated for playful cities and served as a technical advisor for Bloomberg Philanthropies' Asphalt Art Europe Initiative.

Her professional path is defined by a strong transnational vision, cultivated within European networks alongside partners like Placemaking Europe and the European Union's PN Metro Plus framework. She is specialized in managing complex participatory processes, co-designing child-friendly cities and in general translating urban policies into concrete actions for local communities. Her technical toolkit spans the technical drafting of public spaces projects, tactical urban planning and impact analysis, allowing to bridge the gap between strategic policy and neighborhood-scale execution

Furthermore, her background as an international public speaker (from TEDx to various conferences and courses, such as Placemaking Week Europe) enables her to effectively facilitate the exchange of good practices and lead collaborative networks toward sustainable, integrated and resilient urban development.
