Dr Ioannis PAPPAS is a Mechanical Engineer, with PhD in Applied Mechanics, with over 35 years’ experience in several fields of science, including Sustainable development in Urban Areas, Tourism & Environmental Efficiency in Infrastructure & Buildings, Energy Efficiency, EPC & Building Simulations, Sustainability by Design Approach and implementation for Buildings in different sectors, Advising in standardization of companies & technological implementation of climate adaptation & mitigation methodologies. He is Senior Advisor in Urban Cities, Climate Neutrality & Life Cycle Analysis, Sustainable Tourism, Energy Efficiency & Assessments, Net Zero & Positive Zero Initiatives, ESGs & Green Energy / Renewables. Also, he is EUI Innovation Actions Expert, Lead Assessor for Energy Efficiency measures simulation & implementation, Energy Auditor/Assessor, in hospitality, buildings & industry. He is lead expert of GSTC in National and Regional Sustainability Programs development & implementation, including training & capacity building activities. He has vast experience in Sustainability Projects, including R & D, National, European, & International, while he has an international experience on Climate projects, sustainability, tourism & energy efficiency for the last 25 years. He was an invited speaker in a number of conferences, seminars and webinars, including European Commission, Governments, Universities, Hotel Chains, GSTC, Google, ETOA, CLIA, MedCruise, URBAN Agenda and EBRD.
