Summary

He has participated in several European cooperation programmes, including URBACT, Interreg, Horizon Europe, LIFE and the European Urban Initiative (EUI). Within these programmes he has coordinated networks, contributed to action planning processes, supported peer learning between cities and participated in workshops, peer reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.
Ricardo previously served as Head of Innovation, Investment and Strategic Planning at the Municipality of Fundão (Portugal), where he coordinated initiatives related to economic diversification, digital skills, entrepreneurship and investment attraction. These initiatives contributed to the development of a technology ecosystem in a rural territory and supported the creation of qualified jobs.
His work has involved collaboration with municipalities, businesses, education institutions and community organisations in the design of local strategies and development initiatives. He regularly contributes to European exchange and learning activities as a speaker, facilitator and peer reviewer.
