Summary

Urban Sociologist and Public Manager with a solid experience in research, planning and development of community-based strategies and policies in the field of city management, local development, workfare, culture, social innovation and civic engagement. 

He holds a Ph.D in Political and Social Sciences (Bari, London, Toronto) and a Master's degree in European Public Management (Bari, Roma, Parma, Bruges). Since 2006 he has been involved in strategic planning and urban regeneration strategies, as a researcher, consultant and public manager, with a strong emphasis on the involvement of local communities.

He is from 2014 Director of the Technical Staff of the Mayor of the City of Bari  in charge for workfare, culture, social innovation, participation, food policy, urban security and international cooperation, and member of the  Strategic Plan board of the Metropolitan City of Bari (BARI20230).

He is lecturer of urban development and public management at the Business School of LUM Jean Monnet University (Bari) and Advisory Member of the City Diplomacy Lab (Columbia University).

Active in the European Territorial Cooperation programmes (URBACT IV, Horizon, Interreg, NEB, IURC, EaSI), from 2017 to 2022 he was co-organizer of the Italian Festival of Good Practices URBACT and collaborates with the City School of Management promoted by ANCI (Italian Association of Cities), Foundation Gianfranco Dioguardi and University of Bari.
