This quote is true for any ecosystem, regardless of its biological or artificial nature. Economic development cannot go on without talented people (even if several other positive factor is present), and the decision of talented people to stay in their home city will often hinge on the least positive factors as well (“I like the vibe of the city, but I cannot find an affordable home.”).
The ULG team of Nyíregyháza had a busy month – between the middle of February and March, they had three meetings in order to create a pre-liminary assessment about their city and its business ecosystem: identifying weaknesses and finding solutions, but also looking for opportunities to capitalize on.
Their focus was on three topics: supporting existing companies, nurturing new businesses, and providing entrepreneurship training for young people (mainly high schoolers and university students). Based on the least favourable conditions they identified, the ULG members worked out one solution for every topic in groups – all three will be included in the city’s Integrated Action Plan.
