The Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova was represented at the URBACT 2025 National Partners Meeting, an initiative promoted by the Directorate-General for Territory in its capacity as the National URBACT Point.
The event took place on November 18 and 19 in São Pedro do Sul.
URBACT is the European Union's flagship program dedicated to the exchange of knowledge and best practices among European regions. This meeting brought together over 53 entities and included capacity-building sessions for professionals, experience sharing, and the preparation of new projects for sustainable development.
Idanha participates in the program through two transfer networks:
- Restart – A network led by Idanha-a-Nova that focuses on population retention and combating depopulation, replicating the model of the Recomeçar (Restart) project.
- Eat4Climate – A network dedicated to sustainable food systems and food sovereignty, led by France, with Idanha-a-Nova as a partner.
All these initiatives are supported by the European Union and are crucial for strengthening the sustainable development of our territory.
