On 3 and 4 December, the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova was represented in Paris at the URBACT IV Transfer Networks Kick-Off Meeting, marking the official start of work on the RE project, for which Idanha-a-Nova is the Lead Partner.
The event brought together 75 representatives from the networks approved by the URBACT Monitoring Committee. In total, these 25 networks comprise 181 partners from 28 countries, highlighting the European dimension of the programme and its strategic role in disseminating good practices in territorial development.
As leader of the RE project, Idanha-a-Nova played an active role in the working sessions, contributing to the definition of the project’s initial strategy, which will be implemented until 2028. The project aims to “combat depopulation, attract investment and increase visitor numbers”, while also focusing on “the quality of life of citizens and strengthening the territory’s capacity, making it a reference in sustainable rural revitalisation”.
Through this participation, the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova reaffirms its commitment to territorial innovation, European cooperation and sustainable development, marking the beginning of a new phase of collaborative work that will continue over the next two and a half years.
