The final transnational event of the URBACT SCHOOLHOODS network took place in Rethymno, Greece, bringing together representatives from all seven partner cities, local stakeholders, and ULG members for two days of learning, exchange, and inspiration.
The programme included presentations, interviews, outdoor sessions, and workshops focused on safe and sustainable school mobility, as well as the handover of Integrated Action Plans (IAPs) developed by each city. Participants also explored the city through URBAN95 activities, cycling challenges, and a creative scavenger hunt showcasing network products and pilot actions.
As project lead Vasilis Myriokefalitakis noted, “the end of the project is not the end of the journey — it’s the beginning of implementation.”
We thank all partners for their active contribution and commitment to building child-friendly, accessible, and sustainable cities for the next generation.
