One of the ongoing actions in the city’s Integrated Action Plan is a Youth Portal – a website called “Nyíregyháza awaits you home” which can be used to remain in touch with talented young people who leave Nyíregyháza to study or work elsewhere by informing them about new programs and opportunities in the city and asking for their opinion on various issues.
Its creation is connected to a past transnational project, TalentMagnet, but the municipality is always looking for ways to sustain the impact of previous initiatives, so in C4TALENT the local team collaborated with the Vocational Training Centre to organize personal visits to selected schools during which the portal could be introduced, gauging the students’ interest and identifying the best methods to increase it.
They visited more than 600 graduating students in 8 technical/vocational schools in April. They won’t stop here, however: they plan to have another “roadshow” in September, targeting not just graduating but also younger students and general high schools as well.
