Education in the field of mobility and electromobility - a chance to change habits

A few years ago, we developed the "Electromobility Development Strategy for the City of Zduńska Wola until 2035." The document stipulates that we will conduct educational and informational activities for residents on mobility and electromobility. However, it's difficult to act without a clearly defined plan. That's why we have an idea for a project! We are looking for cities that would like to create a network to jointly develop such a plan. We are also looking for a Leader, as we have no experience implementing such an international project. 

The city of Zduńska Wola is a Polish local government located in the very center of Poland, very well connected, but facing a number of problems of a medium-sized city losing its socio-economic functions. We try to turn our weaknesses into strength, which is why we focus on making our little homeland friendly to its inhabitants. We want residents to come back to us after graduation, start families, and take advantage of the facilities that we are trying to systematically develop. We are fighting smog and lack of investment areas. But at the same time, we are arranging Zduńska Wola anew - placing great emphasis on the development of neglected areas and the creation of green enclaves. And all this with the participation of our residents. We want to look for new solutions that will allow us to become an even friendlier place to live throughout the whole live.

We are implementing a number of projects that are changing our city for the better. We place particular emphasis on cooperation with residents - we implemented the 60+ smart city - innovations as a result of intergenerational cooperation project, which allowed us to invite our residents to co-create public space. Together we planned a cinema Paweł Królikowski’s square – named in tribute to an actor from Zduńska Wola, beloved by our residents. We have experience in developing green areas: we have created pocket parks, woonerf, we are in the process of developing the central square in the city and a new park. In the coming years, we will carry out further investments based on the documentation that already exists. We implement new investments with urban resilience in mind - the projects include a lot of greenery, deconcreting of areas and retention elements. Recently, we have focused on electric buses, but we want to develop even more towards sustainable urban mobility. We are constantly looking for new solutions, we are not afraid to work with new technologies and startups. Because Zduńska Wola is a city with ambitions.
