Looking for Project Partners
Satu Mare is looking for project partners for an Action Network on the topic of Food.
Many of our City Strategies will have a focus on local economic development – using different industries to create jobs, support local business development, improve skills and enable economic growth. A key industry for many places is food – there will be growers, factories, markets, local delicacies, caterers and many other stakeholders with an interest in food. As municipalities we will also buy food through public procurement. This Action Network is looking for cities that already have in their strategies or action plans activities associated with food and are looking to deliver these actions through procurement, food growing and markets, food and drink promotion, education and other solutions to contribute towards growing the local food economy.
In this context, the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association will act as Lead Partner, ensuring strong coordination, strategic direction and efficient implementation of all activities within the network. The association represents 60 administrative units, bringing together a wide territorial perspective and a strong capacity to mobilize local stakeholders. Over the years, we have successfully participated in and participated as partner in 2 URBACT projects, gaining solid experience in transnational cooperation, integrated urban development and participatory approaches.
Withing the FOOD4ECONOMY project, we are particularly interested in strengthening the link between local producers and public institutions, promoting short supply chains, supporting local markets and encouraging healthier, locally sourced food consumption. Through this Action Network, we aim to build on our previous experience, implement small scale actions that will reinforce the resilience and competitiveness of the local food economy, and exchange best practices with partner cities.
