In the near future, artificial intelligence will be everywhere. This new and sometimes unsettling technology is already transforming the ways we work, live, and interact in cities.

The aim of URBANai is to explore how AI can serve local authorities in small and medium-sized European cities, making public services more efficient, inclusive, and accessible, so that no citizen is left behind and all generations can benefit.

The network will share good practices, inspire responsible innovation, and support collaborative solutions to local challenges, helping municipalities address issues such as citizen engagement and service delivery.

By fostering efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered services, URBANai will empower cities to take an active role in shaping the future, strengthen trust with their communities, and inspire a shared European vision for AI in local governance.

URBANai targets municipalities eager to anticipate the impacts of AI, integrate it responsibly into public services, and leverage it to enhance citizen participation.

The project will identify opportunities to improve governance, foster collaboration, and build capacity, ensuring that AI becomes a tool at the service of local authorities in an ethical, inclusive, and transparent way.
