Architect, holds a PhD in Urban, Regional and Environmental Design, complemented by a steady practice of urban divagations as an artist and an activist. Works as a researcher and a consultant in urbanism and as an innovation strategist. In 2011 created with Laura Colini Tesserae Urban Social research to develop an activity in the hybrid field between academic research, policy consultancy, activism and art. His principal research interests are in urban regeneration, public space, integrated sustainable urban development, peripheries, modernism, heritage making, cultural development, participative planning and ICT. Develops a parallel experimental artistic activity within the ogino:knauss collective producing films, documentaries, video-installations, photography, graphic design and new media. Lorenzo has developed in the course of his manyfold activities a trans-disciplinary approach summarised in the Urban Reconnaissance methodology, on which the set of tools and methods for civic engagement developed by Tesserae is based.
