  • The Dublin Cultural Audit and Map project

    The Dublin Cultural Audit and Map project was developed to add to the local authoritys knowledge base, to inform decisions by the city council departments, planners and strategists. This intelligence project is also a public resource - a website called Culture Near You - that makes the citys cultural buildings, organisations and networks easier to find and connect with for the people of Dublin.

  • European capital cities leading the urban agenda for cultural inclusion

    Eight cities are collaborating in a newly established network named ACCESS, funded by URBACT, an EU programme to develop sustainable solutions to urban challenges. The aim is to bring about a real shift in cultural policymaking in Europe and as a result ensure access to culture for all citizens.

    The Lead Partner of URBACT's network re-growCity filled empty stores with manufacturers of Christmas decoration instead of a Christmas market (which was forbidden in 2020 because of Corona).

  • A very collaborative 2nd Transnational meeting!

    Our second transnational meeting was hosted by the city of Vila Nova de Famalicao and took place online on 25th & 26th November. The meeting focussed on the topic of collaboration and looked at ways in which cities could stimulate collaboration with a view to accelerating the circular economy.

  • A closer cooperation between culture and tourism at the core of the Tourism Forum in Krakow

    On the 15th of December 2020, another meeting of the Urbact Local Group was held in Krakow in the frame of the Tourism Friendly Cities project. It was a part of a Tourism Forum organized as a partial online meeting at the ICE congress centre in Krakow. The meeting was attended, among others, by the deputy mayor of Kraków, the plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Kraków for culture, the President of the Polish Tourist Organization, the President of the Regional Tourist Organization, the director of the Wawel Royal Castle and several directors and employees of Krakow museums, entrepreneurs and residents.
