  • Transfer Story: Matosinhos Portugal

    The Municipality set out by building a strong ULG, comprising 13 partners and also secured some commercial sponsorship through SuperBock, to support any entrepreneurs that enter the competition with an idea to reduce or address sea waste.  The environmental sustainability prize would only be fully granted if the Municipality could evidence good environmental practices from the companies in the incubation programme.

  • Transfer Story: Mataro Spain

    The city of Mataro aspires to open the city to the sea.  The Municipality’s original goals were to promote the blue economy and stimulate new businesses. The foundations for this project were laid in the ‘Sea in Value’ project, which sought to promote a nautical culture, develop the blue economy and open the city to the sea.

  • Reaching out into communities to find fledgling entrepreneurs

    Business Plan Competitions are essentially a contest where business plans, submitted by aspiring entrepreneurs, are compared, and judged, according to a set of criteria published prior to the launch of the competition. Winners go on to receive incubation and business support to help them set down strong roots in a particular locality, grow and employ more people.
