How did the first EU City Lab go?

WELDI Project's First Transnational Meeting in Osijek, Croatia

WELDI’s  first transnational meeting took place on 15 and 16 November 2023 in the picturesque city of Osijek, fourth largest city in Croatia, that is nestled within the Pannonian Basin on the right bank of the Drava River. The gathering served as a platform for partner cities to share experiences and challenges with regard to migrant rights, and discuss the baseline study and roadmap drawn up by our expert: Dirk Gebhardt.

In this article, we will talk about this transnational meeting and what it involved, both in terms of planning WELDI’s work plan and in gaining insight into the work of the host city Osijek.

Vom 10. Januar bis zum 20. März 2024 ist der URBACT-Call für die erste Generation von sogenannten Innovation-Transfer-Netzwerken (ITN) geöffnet; Kommunen aus ganz Europa können sich darauf bewerben. As a part of the URBACT IV European Programme, ten European urban areas come together to form Cities@Heart, a network dedicated to sharing best practices and innovations for improving city centre management.

Nine cities to link issues of public procurement and gender equality

The GenProcure Action Planning Network (APN) is focused on the thematic topic of Gender Responsive Public Procurement. Over the next two years and until December 2025, it will seek to support nine partner cities to develop Integrated Action Plans (IAPs) that enable gender equality to be a key consideration in Public Procurement. Public Procurement is the process utilised by public authorities, including local municipalities and regional governments, to spend money on the goods, services and works that they require to function effectively. Public procurement spreads from the design of goods and services to the tendering of opportunities to the monitoring of outputs and outcomes.
