Celebrating Europe day in Gozo and Malta!

Edited on 27/06/2025

URBACT & EUI Stand

This May, the URBACT and European Urban Initiative (EUI) Contact Point in Malta took part in national Europe Day events to raise awareness of EU-funded opportunities for local councils, citizens and stakeholders.

📍 3rd May –  Victoria, Gozo
📍 9th May –  Valletta, Malta

These events provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about the opportunities offered by both the URBACT and EUI programmes. Our participation focused on outreach and engagement with local communities, regional stakeholders, and the general public.

 Highlights from the Events

  • Support for Local and Regional Councils: We provided guidance on how councils can join and benefit from URBACT networks and EUI-funded city-to-city cooperation initiatives.

  • Community Engagement: We interacted with citizens and students, highlighting the role of EU programmes in promoting greener, more inclusive, and smarter urban development across the Maltese Islands.

  • Information Sharing: Informative materials were distributed, covering current and upcoming funding opportunities, capacity-building offers, and how to participate in future EU calls and networks.

We are excited to continue building awareness and capacity for sustainable urban development, and we thank everyone who stopped by to learn more about URBACT and the EUI!
