In the scope of Braga's Integrated Action Plan, Braga Municipality is developing the House of Skills, a project that aims to create an innovative transitional housing solution to integrate homeless people who are in temporary accommodation centres. The project includes a programme of personal and social development and employability skills for this public, with a view to their professional and social reinsertion.
This pilot project of integrated intervention is aimed at a maximum of five people and consists of a training programme of individual skills, through mentoring and coaching. The aim is to develop a collaborative employability programme, involving public and private organizations, which provides a unique model of employability.
In order to combat this phenomenon, Braga Municipality has been developing an integration model that ensures the promotion of autonomy, through the mobilization of all available resources and the full exercise of citizenship. In this approach, the Municipality relies on the Centre for Planning and Intervention for Homeless People (NPISA), which integrates public and private organizations of the Social Network of Braga, and on the thematic working group (UGL), which relies on the involvement of entities mainly linked to the areas of housing, social, employment and health, as well as on the Human Power Hub - Social Innovation Centre of Braga, which provides support to the acceleration and incubation of entrepreneurial ideas oriented towards social impact.
Braga's ULG meets quarterly to share good practices, identify new approaches, analyze data and map solutions.
