Two weeks after Cáceres presented its tourism products in the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (FITUR) based on art, heritage, nature and culture, the city comes back with sustainable tourism news.
The Innovative Touristic Tours started last year in Cáceres to let both residents and tourists know different spaces of the city that would otherwise go unseen. This initiative aims at keeping the support to the group of the touristic guides, who contribute also in the URBACT progress as part of the ULG, and whose work has been deeply affected by the health situation in the previous year. The second round of these tours has begun in June, 10th meaning an opportunity for residents and tourists to takes part in an activity that joins common interests.
The first two tours are the Ornithological Tour which has raised knowledge about Cernícalo Primilla (Common krestel), whose Special Protection Area (SPA) is located in the historical centre of Cáceres and the Moorish and New Jewish Quarter Tour.
The rest of the tours are: Cáceres and América, Heraldry Tour, the Accesible Tour to open the visit also to disabled people, Courtyards Tour, Contemporary Art in Cáceres Tour, Children Tour to adapt it to the families, an important sector among Cáceres tourists, Historical Figures in Cáceres Tour and Historical Market Tour.
As a result of a better sanitary context, the capacity has been increased to 30 people, 10 more comparing with the first round.
