Ten European cities met at the end of November in Grosseto to discover the city and to plan strategies about the revitalization of the historical centres. the visit has been carried out in the within of the plan “I Place”, which involves Grosseto Municipality with nine other European cities, with the aim of proposing sustainable economic development strategies and an integrated action plan aimed at enhancing market niches and generating ecosystems of urban innovation.
An important component of the project are the study visits in the partner cities, which allow them and representatives of their local action groups to discover other contexts, experiences and projects for revitalization.
From 29 to 30 November the 10 European cities and their bearers of interest were guests of the Municipality of Grosseto to get to know, exchange, visit the territory and the historic center and share ideas and recommendations for its relaunch. On November 30th, the participants took part in a workshop at the Maremma Natural History Museum on strategic action plans for European cities and in the afternoon they explored the Maremma Park and the historic centre of Grosseto. An important opportunity to discover the most evocative places of the city and to explore the spaces open thanks to the Pop-Up Project.
The project will continue in 2022 with the finalisation of the actual action plan and the development of strategic interventions, as My Green Week in Grosseto of which a call for ideas has already been shared and which continues with a catalogue of activities attentive to seasonal adjustment and a promotion campaign for a new model of sustainable tourism development, or as the free guided tours of the territory and its many peculiarities, from the historic center to the villages, passing through the oases and nature reserves.
