TNM 11 in FOT

On September 23–24, 2025, the city of Fot, Hungary, hosted the penultimate Transnational Meeting (TNM) of the European project Breaking Isolation. This gathering brought together all partner cities for two intense days of exchanges, collaborative work, and local discoveries.

Action Plans almost finalized

Each city presented its Integrated Action Plan, the result of months of reflection, consultation, and local experimentation. These strategic documents, which compile the actions chosen by each local group, are now finalized at 90%.

To enrich this work, partners took part in a peer-to-peer review exercise. This cross-reading process allowed them to examine the Action Plans with fresh eyes, identify strengths, suggest improvements, and draw inspiration from one another. This collaborative approach perfectly embodies the spirit of the URBACT program: learning from each other to design stronger and more effective local policies.

External support to ensure the quality of the IAPs

Beyond this internal dynamic, the project will soon benefit from the support of two ad hoc European experts. Their role will be to provide a completely independent perspective on the finalized Action Plans, offering each city constructive, critical, and tailored feedback. This step aims to further strengthen the relevance and feasibility of the planned actions and give each partner additional tools to ensure successful implementation starting in 2026.

A meeting enriched by culture and discovery

While the working sessions were central, this TNM was also an opportunity to discover Fot and its local initiatives. Visits organized by the municipality allowed partners to explore emblematic places and gain a deeper understanding of the city’s social, cultural, and economic realities. These moments of conviviality and cultural exchange are essential to strengthen network cohesion, build lasting bonds between participants, and enrich mutual understanding among European cities.

Final meeting in Agen this December

The Breaking Isolation journey is soon coming to an end. The final TNM will be held in Agen on December 9–10, 2025. This closing event will be the occasion to officially present the final Integrated Action Plans and to celebrate the collective journey since the project’s launch.

A major highlight has already been announced: on December 9 at 6 p.m., an online public conference will recap the project’s key stages, showcase local achievements, and unveil the plans that will guide partner cities in the years to come.

Starting in 2026, these Action Plans will enter their implementation phase, marking a concrete and ambitious step forward. Each city will then roll out its solutions to break social isolation and strengthen local solidarity, while continuing to draw inspiration from fellow European partners.
