On 28 October 2026, the URBACT IV Monitoring Committee approved 25 Action Networks, following the call for Action Networks that ran between 17 March and 17 June 2026.
URBACT Action Networks will implement city strategies through a set of concrete actions in local contexts for sustainable urban development. An URBACT Action Network is composed of 6-8 city partners from across Europe. Partners involved in the Action Networks embark on a 2,5-year journey of mutual learning and exchange. They will benefit from funding for the implementation of their actions, expertise support, capacity-building and visibility opportunities. The networks will start their work on 1 November 2026 and conclude it on 30 April 2029.
The approved 25 Action Networks gather 180 partners from 31 European countries. Out of the 180 city partners, 75 partners (42%) are newcomers to URBACT. In terms of size, very small, small and medium-sized cities represent 84% of partners in the Action Networks.
Regarding geographical representation, the top numbers of partners come from Italy (21), Spain (18), Romania (14) and Portugal (14).
