Welcome to the URBACT Online Course on Digital Transition in Cities
This module aims to explore what digital transition in governmental structures and organisations refers to, how it can be implemented and what decision makers need to keep in mind when introducing it.
This module includes a learning video supported by two case studies and a few city use cases.
It is designed for local governments interested in digital transition of public services, by increasing efficiency, cost-effectiveness and transparency of their work. It will also support them in encouraging citizens’ participation in the process of decision making, by sharing valuable experience from other European cities.
Upon completion of this module participants should be able to:
- Explain the meaning of Digital Governance
- Understand possible approaches towards digital governance systems
- Understand key challenges when using advanced technology to collect and use private information and possible methods and tools to address them.
