As Malta’s Urban Contact Point (UCP) for EUI and National URBACT Point (NUP), the Local Government Division remains committed to supporting local authorities, stakeholders, and urban practitioners in designing innovative, resilient, and inclusive cities.

The URBACT Call for Action Networks Is Now Closed!

That's a wrap! The URBACT Call for Action Networks has officially closed, marking the end of an exciting application period and the beginning of a new chapter for cities across Europe. The response has been extraordinary, with more than 630 cities coming together to seek URBACT's support in developing innovative, collaborative solutions to local challenges.

Successful Joint EUI and URBACT Information Session

The National Contact Points for the European Urban Initiative (EUI) and URBACT programmes hosted an Information Session on 7 May 2026 at the Hilton Hotel, St Julian's. The event brought together representatives from local councils, public authorities, and other stakeholders to learn about current funding opportunities and cooperation initiatives available through these European programmes.

The session aimed to increase awareness of the support available to Maltese local authorities while encouraging participation in transnational projects that promote sustainable urban development, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
