A liveable city is anchored by its public spaces, the connective tissue for community well-being and social inclusion. True liveability means embracing the "24-hour city": recognizing that a city vitality and social fabric don’t end at sundown. Central to this is safety, not only through policing, but through gender- responsive, inclusive urban design. This session will allow a dialogue amongst the URBACT networks of 2NITE, CITISENSE and Cities after Dark, looking into how these shared environments remain vibrant, safe, and welcoming throughout the day and into the night.
