Bahanur is a multi-faceted professional with a background in architecture, urban transformation, regional development, research and filmmaking. She has completed postgraduate studies in Vienna and Barcelona, specialising in sustainable development and revitalisation concepts. At present, she is actively involved in research projects that target the development of community capacities, for urban, peripheral or rural areas. In particular, Bahanur is focusing on the interrelation between environmental and social impacts, with the lense of spatial justice. Additionally, she is expert for various international projects in the field of energy transition, green deal, sustainable mobility, cultural heritage, urban commons and fair housing. In her work, she is advocating for the interests of communities and underprivileged social groups, such as women, young people, children, newcomers and socially disadvantaged individuals.
