From vision to action: the first steps take shape
After an initial phase dedicated to context analysis, stakeholder engagement, and co-designing a shared vision, the project has now moved into its operational phase. The local stakeholder group (ULG – URBACT Local Group) has worked intensively to translate the project’s principles into concrete actions focused on regenerating the area and activating collaborative processes.
Among the structured and currently launching actions is the communication plan for promoting the Altino area:
A communication plan to promote the Altino area
Altino is rich in natural, archaeological, and landscape resources, but it remains relatively unknown at the metropolitan and regional levels. To address this, an integrated communication plan has been developed to promote a compelling and consistent image of the territory by highlighting its uniqueness through both analogue and digital means.
Planned activities include:
- thematic signage along key routes;
- guided territorial explorations;
- film screenings and conferences;
- targeted use of social media and web platforms;
- launch of new cultural events and programmes.
The goal is to build a territorial narrative that fosters visibility, awareness, and participation.
Shared governance of the Altino Civic Centre
A strategic action is being launched to turn the Civic Centre into a space for cultural production and community co-management, involving already active local organisations such as cultural associations, sports clubs, institutions, and economic actors.
Through a shared governance model, the aim is to:
- coordinate a calendar of events;
- optimize the use of available spaces;
- encourage civic engagement;
- build an inclusive and dynamic cultural identity.

Collaboration, complexity, and opportunity
Defining and detailing these actions was not always easy: in some cases, the initial information provided was fragmented or partial, requiring a creative reconstruction effort and ongoing dialogue among different stakeholders. Nevertheless, this complexity has added value, encouraging a more participatory and responsible approach focused on quality and concreteness.

Looking ahead: towards implementation
In the coming months, the priority will be on activating the planned actions, securing the necessary resources (financial and human), and continuously monitoring the impacts generated. The operational action sheets — complete with timelines, indicators, and targets — will allow for a transparent and measurable management of the local action plan.
In a context that is fragile yet full of potential, Green & Smart Altinum Hub aims to show that urban regeneration can also begin in small towns, when driven by a collective, sustainable, and community-rooted vision.
