On Saturday, November 23, students from the University of Rzeszów, along with facilitators, worked on solutions for urban mobility, biodiversity, public participation, and business to benefit the city and local community.
The #RzeClimat(On) event was supported by staff from the Department of Climate and Environment, the Press and Social Communication Office of Rzeszów City Hall, the Center for Urban Innovation, and the Local URBACT Group. Key contributors included Michalina Mroz from the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów and Ewa Kubejko-Polanska from the University of Rzeszow.
Deputy Mayor of Rzeszów Krzysztof Stanko attended the event and showed great interest in the students' ideas. Among the proposed solutions were a green tunnel, company gardens, extra breaks for bicycle commuters, and ivy-covered street networks to enhance the city's environmental quality.
The event aimed to raise awareness about ecology, climate change, and the challenges they pose for the city and community, focusing on sustainable urban mobility, biodiversity, public engagement, and business.
