Empowering Youth Through the Erasmus+ Local Youth Program Conference
On February 27, 2024, the Re-Gen project showcased its mission at the Erasmus+ Local Youth Program Conference. The event empowered youth and decision-makers to collaborate on public policies for local youth. Participants learned about Re-Gen’s goal to turn neglected public spaces into dynamic hubs for recreation and connection.
A survey conducted at the conference revealed a clear need for accessible, well-maintained green spaces and improved sports infrastructure in Pula. These insights now shape the project's approach, ensuring it addresses the youth’s needs effectively.

Revitalizing Spaces Through Tactical Urbanism - Painting the Valica Playground
The Re-Gen project employs tactical urbanism to demonstrate how small, community-driven actions can create meaningful change. In November 2024, students from Pula Gymnasium and Dante Alighieri Italian High School revitalized the Valica playground by painting its walls with vibrant designs as part of their art classes.
This activity not only beautified the space but also fostered a sense of pride and ownership among the youth. Mayor Filip Zoričić praised their efforts, highlighting how their creativity contributes to the city’s beauty and inspires meaningful action, stating:
"Through these workshops, we want to inspire you to create something meaningful. By painting and enhancing the walls, you showcase your artistic talent while contributing to your city's beauty. It's a unique way to leave your mark."
The visually enriched Valica playground now stands as a vibrant recreational area and a testament to the power of collective creativity and action. These efforts ensure that public spaces are not only functional but also deeply cherished by the community.

Conceptual design of revitalized Rojc Area
Looking ahead, the project plans to showcase lesser-known sports, organize large-scale sports events, and continue engaging youth in shaping their urban environment. Re-Gen is proving that by empowering communities and embracing creativity, cities can evolve into dynamic spaces that bring people together.
