The ON BOARD Policy Declaration has been signed by all the Project Partners.
Political representatives of the partner cities signed a document outlining their cities’ stance on education and educational innovation and the role that local governments can play. This policy statement also remains these local governments’ commitment to the transfer of the Educational Innovation Network.
The six European Cities that participate in the Urbact III ON BOARD Transfer Network believe that:
Education should be a high priority amongst local policies and strategies and its modernisation is necessary in order to prepare our citizens for the 21st century’s challenges and needs.
Local Governments are drivers of educational innovation and it is known that education is the responsibility of society as a whole so it should be a shared concern and responsibility of the entire community.
As regards to Education policies; encouraging Education is a key element in the city’s strategic document so ensure it holds a crucial position in the city’s development.
Other key elements are:
- Ensuring a cross-sectional approach from the administration
- Fostering the collaboration with different local stakeholders
- Promoting the engagement of all public and private stakeholders in education in the city
- Fostering the opening of schools amongst families, enterprises, entities and other local stakeholders.
